Anjou "Les Mailles Jeanne" MAGNUM

Blanc

Named after the former owner of this plot, these are the old Chenin vines from Clos des Mailles, but they are located on a border position called Les Mailles, where the slope rises to give a south-facing exposure opposite Clos des Mailles. The position is slightly lower compared to Clos des Mailles, and cold air masses in spring often slide down to this area, making frost more frequent.

Therefore, this is the plot that is pruned last each year, which helps ensure a later budburst. The location and old vines tend to give a lot of acidity to the Chenin here and relatively aromatic wines.

Manual harvest, gentle pneumatic pressing, fermentation and aging in barrels of various ages and sizes, sandstone jars, and glass demijohns. Alc 12% - residual sugar < 0.5 g/L
